| Karen Schwarz is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, a Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor, a National Board Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, and a Certified Master Neurolinguistic Programmer, and has a Master's Degree in Psychology.

She has provided mental health and chemical dependency counseling in both the private and public sector since 1984, for agencies and in private practice, has supervised other counselors, and has directed an outpatient chemical dependency program. Karen has over 170 hours of hypnotherapy training, and has successfully provided hypnotherapy services since 2006.
She has presented trainings to other professionals on Counselor Ethics, Counselor/Client Relationships, Diagnosing Substance Abuse and Dependence, Hypnosis, and Group Therapy Process. She has also presented education workshops to divorcing parents, enabling them to keep their struggles separate from children's needs.
Karen has completed alcohol/drug evaluations for federal and local agencies, courts, attorneys and employers.
Karen has practiced divorce mediation, enabling couples to negotiate mutually acceptable parenting plans, increasing the amount of cooperation between parents regarding child-related issues. She is currently a facilitator for collaborative law cases, in which separating couples and their attorneys meet with a facilitator in five-way sessions, to enable mutually satisfactory separation agreements in a cooperative environment.
She has also been a successful recipient of hypnosis as a competitive athlete, winning a 1987 national powerlifting championship.
