| Solution-Focused Counseling |
Experience a combination of effective techniques, used together for efficient and powerful life-changing results.
Several elements make Solution-Focused Counseling (SFC) more effective and efficient than conventional therapy in changing behavior:
-
You focus on your goal. Many people know what they do not want, but are less clear as to what they do want. This is a key component to SFC and, if you need help identifying your goal, you and your counselor can work together to accomplish that.
-
You focus on what is, rather than what isn't, working for you toward achieveing that goal.
-
You identify how you will start your change process rather than how you will end it.
-
You become clear as to "how" (you will accomplish something), "when" (you will accomplish it), and "what" (you need to do to accomplish it).
-
You remove barriers to change: There is less a focus on "why" you engage in a particular behavior in SFC although, if need be, some time can be used to address those issues to unblock any resistance.
-
A combination of Neurolinguistic Programming, hypnosis, hypnotherapy, education, and discussion are used to help you achieve your goals. This treatment flexibility offers the greatest personal gains in the least amount of time. Neurolinguistic Programming is based on the principle that how you think about something influences how you will deal with it, and uses various techniques to enable maximum growth.
The number of sessions are not artifically established prior to beginning treatment, but are determined based on your need and progress. In some cases, treatment goals can be accomplished in as few as three to six sessions. Effective treatment involves setting realistic and attainable goals, and developing strategies to reach your goals. Treatment is complete when you have, and have begun using, the tools necessary to accomplish your objectives. You can request additional sessions if needed or desired.
Clients who have used these services have stated they made more progress in a few sessions than they did in years of traditional therapy.
